Appointment Policies
Same-day treatments are not available to be booked online, and may be scheduled by calling the clinic: 773.880.9939
No-shows and cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance of your appointment are subject to a $40 fee.
On-street parking is available seven days per week, except for the north side of Belmont Avenue from 4-6pm weekdays. Please allow enough time for travel and parking prior to your appointment. At the discretion of the clinic schedule and your practitioner, late arrivals will be held to their scheduled end time.
Gift Certificates
A Healing Foundations Gift Certificate is an excellent way to express your best wishes for health and happiness. Stop by, call, or email us to purchase a certificate for a specific service or an amount that will let the recipient decide which healthful route to explore. Gift certificates may be used for services, classes, and retail products.
Insurance
Insurance coverage for acupuncture treatment varies from policy to policy, but benefits for acupuncture are becoming more common. Healing Foundations is a certified in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Choice. If your insurance policy has acupuncture coverage, we can help you get your treatments covered by submitting claims to your insurance directly. We're happy to verify your benefits for you, but you may wish to contact your insurance company ahead of time to find out what your policy's coverage is for acupuncture. If you're unsure of your insurance coverage, you will be charged the out of pocket rate at the time of service. Upon verification of your benefits, any overpayment will be reimbursed to you or applied as credited to your account. Do you have a Health Savings or Flex Spending Account? You can absolutely use your HSA or FSA to pay for treatments at Healing Foundations! We are happy to provide itemized receipts for HSA purposes.
Accredited and Licensed Acupuncturists
At Healing Foundations, you will only receive acupuncture from trained and licensed acupuncturists. In the state of Illinois, licensed acupuncturists are required to complete a minimum of 3 academic years of study, including more than 1000 hours of classroom time and more than 600 hours of hands-on clinic time treating patients. To become licensed, they must pass a rigorous national board examination given by the National Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Licensed acupuncturists use acupuncture and its underlying theories as their main therapy, enabling them to utilize their expertise to effectively and safely treat even complicated cases. Their extensive training allows them to take advantage of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine's broad range of applications as well as go more in depth in treating individual cases, helping them to attain optimal results. Other practitioners, such as chiropractors, medical doctors, and physical therapists may not be licensed. These therapists can practice a style of acupuncture called "dry needling" with 100 hours or even less of training.
